What Is Distant Craniosacral Integration?
Distant Craniosacral Integration is a form of remote healing that is grounded in Cranio-Sacral awareness and processes, and is clearly distinct from any other healing modality. Although the session takes place at a distance, the practitioner works with the same sensitivity and intention to support the body’s natural ability to restore balance and wellbeing.
Drawing on the principles of quantum science and the interconnected nature of living systems, Craniosacral Integration can be directed with focused awareness toward the anatomy and physiology of the body, as well as the wider emotional and energetic aspects of the person as a whole.
Distant sessions can be particularly helpful when travel, location, time constraints, or personal circumstances make it difficult to attend an in-person session. Many people find that remote sessions can still offer a deeply supportive and restorative experience.
As Thomas Attlee, Founder of College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy, explains:
"Quantum science shows that each of us is a biomagnetic field, and that each of us is an integral part of the wider universal electro-magnetic field. Quantum science also demonstrates that everything, every person, every subatomic particle, is connected in a time-space continuum. In Quantum science this is known as non-locality.
Quantum science therefore shows us that we can connect with anyone or anything, anywhere in the universe - and what determines that connection is our focus of attention, our consciousness.
So while Cranio-Sacral Integration is very clearly working with the anatomy and physiology of the physical body, we can also do this at a distance."
What A Person May Experience During a Distant Session
Each person experiences Distant Craniosacral Integration in their own unique way. During the session, many people report feeling deeply relaxed, calm, or gently aware of subtle sensations in the body. Some people notice warmth, tingling, or a sense of release, while others simply enjoy a peaceful and restorative rest.
Because Craniosacral work supports the nervous system and the body’s natural healing processes, experiences can vary. Some people feel immediate shifts, while others notice changes unfolding gradually in the hours or days following the session.
Whatever the experience, the intention of the session is to create a safe and supportive space for your system to settle, rebalance, and integrate.
